The Dance Scene Photography Exhibition is lead by Director, Carrie Badeaux, and is a project that began in 2012 blending photographers, dancers, and vistas of Humboldt County to create breathtaking compositions and celebrate the vibrant local arts community. The first gallery exhibition opened in 2013 with 100 photographs, live artists with dance models, and silhouette performances at Old Town Eureka's Brenda Tuxford Gallery.
The second exhibition premiered on August 1, 2015 at the Brenda Tuxford Gallery where the Dance Scene presented a stunning new collection of 100 dance photographs in addition to live dance art.
The third collection premiered December 2, 2017 with a beautiful Arts Alive reception at the 2 St. Art Lab with live dance art and a collection of 100 new photographs.
The fourth premiere was an invitational at The Morris Graves Museum of Art for December of 2018 and January of 2019 featuring all new Dance Scene photography pieces.
The fifth collection is set to premiere on December 4th of 2021 for Arts Alive at the C Street studios with all new 100 dance photographs.
This special project is also how the studio name originally came to be.
